Quick and Simple Card

Hello.  I have a very quick, simple card to share with you today and then I'm off to have a movie afternoon!

I stamped it on cream card base and popped up one of the flowers.  I think it's a great 5 minute card.  As you can tell, I gravitate towards clean and simple designs with lots of white space (literally).  I'm going to try to break out of my box over the next few weeks and get comfortable with doing more.  I'll let you know how it goes....

Supplies:  PTI Daydreamer and Handwritten Notes Stamp Sets; PTI Cream cardstock; Memento Inks; American Crafts pen.

While I'm here, I can show you a couple of older cards I haven't posted anywhere yet.

Supplies: PTI sentiment (I cannot remember what set) and CS, Versafine ink, Prima flowers, pearl brad, A Muse Studio ribbon, and Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I have tons and I mean TONS of Prima flowers but I find it really hard to use them.  They just don't seem to fit my CAS style.  This is another quick and simple card I made to use at least a few of them up.  I like the results.  Can you show me other ways to use up my Prima stash in a CAS way?

I have one more simple birthday card I made some time ago using the Martha Stewart balloon punch and some DMC floss.

Supplies: PTI white CS, PTI Birthday Basics Sentiment, Martha Stewart balloon punch, random pattern paper from my stash (KI Memories maybe?), and black floss.

That's about all I have for today.  I'm working on some new cards and will hopefully post them tomorrow after work.  I'm certainly not looking forward to a full week at work after a full week off!

Party Time

Hi again!  I just finished the package and the card.  I couldn't resist the happy wrapping paper I found in the aisle at Michael's today.  My intention was to stamp my own but when I saw this I just had to have it!

I love the bright colors and graphic pattern.  I'm not very happy with the little tag I made but I guess it will do.  Here's a closer pic - the back is lined in a light blue with the To/From info.

And, lastly, the card.  First of all it does NOT coordinate with the package or the tag - I'm hoping to pick up one more gift that will be wrapped in white so it will coordinate with something.  The card was inspired by this one from Dawn McVey but I changed up the color scheme, etc.  I like the way it turned out - PTI's Big Birthday Wishes and dies are the best for b-day cards.

Supplies:  PTI Big Birthday Wishes stamp set; PTI White CS; PTI Damask patterened paper; Memento Ink; glitter CS (can't remember the brand); A Muse Studio Ribbon; Black CS; pinking shears; Fiskars border punch

Now I'm off to shower and change for the party.  I hope to get some additional cards made this weekend so please look for some more posts.  Thanks for reading and commenting - it's really nice to share with you all!

Friday - Tini Time!

Hey everyone!  I wanted to get a quick post up before I start on my projects for today.  My boyfriend's mom is turning 60 today so we have a surprise party to go to early this evening and I still have to wrap the gift, make the card, and make the tag for the present (not to mention get myself ready).  Whew, this morning has been full of errands.  I'm really going to miss running around in the morning when I'm back at work next week...ugh.

I hope to get done quickly so I can come back and share my projects for the party.  In the meantime, here is a super simple card I put together yesterday.  Honestly, this card took no more than 5 minutes but I love it's clean lines and the retro but modern images.  What do you think?  Too simple?

Supplies:  A Muse Studio Stamp Set - Tini Time; PTI White Cardstock; Memento Inks - Black, Bahama Blue, and Bamboo Leaves

Hope to be back with you soon - wish me luck!  :-)

Dot Spot Love

Dot Spot Love....

Can I just tell you how in love I am with this stamp set? It speaks to the clean, graphic style I love (even if I can't pull it off as well as many people do).

I did a whole set of the card below in different colors/sentiments. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Supplies:  PTI white CS, PTI Dot Spot and Inside Out Thank You, Memento Bahama Blue and Black Ink, iRock flat silver things, American Crafts Precision Pen in black.

OLW61 - Clouds

OLW 61

This is my first challenge post on my brand new blog. I am playing along with this week's OLW challenge here http://stylesink.ca/

I used a PTI clouds die cut to sponge the sky. Ink is Sky Blue from A Muse Studio, Memento Black, and Memento Lady Bug. Paper is PTI Stampers Select White.

Thanks so much for letting me play along!

First Post - Banner Day!

So welcome to my new adventure.  I've thought about starting a blog before but haven't been able to convince myself I'd have enough time or I'd be happy with the results.  After reading so many other crafting blogs and looking at blog hops, etc., I've decided to go for it.

I've been crafting for about 5 years and still have so much to learn.  I shocked my friends when I decided to make a scrapbook.  Luckily I had a friend who was a Stampin' Up! demo and scrapbooker who helped me get started.  Being single with no children, I switched to primarily card making after losing some scrapbooking mojo - how many pictures of your friends hanging out or your dog can you really scrapbook?

I have fallen in love with card making - I love the smaller format.  It feels like I can go work in my craft room and come out after an hour or two with a finished project.  I LOVE that.  I also admit I love shopping for supplies and organizing them.  I hope writing this blog and posting projects encourages me to USE my supplies.  There will always be something else I want to buy if I *gasp* use something up.

This is my chance to give back to the crafting community.  I hope something here inspires you as you have all inspired me.

Up next will be my first challenge post...wish me luck!
